Obligation to provide information
Privacy Policy
Protecting your personal data is very important to us. For this reason, we always process data in compliance with the applicable legislation (GDPR, Austrian Telecommunications Act 2003 – TKG). This privacy policy outlines the most important aspects relating to data processing when using our website.
Contact via e-mail and contact form
When you contact us by e-mail or by using the contact form on our website, the data you provide us is stored for a period of six months for the purpose of handling your enquiry and any subsequent questions. We do not share this data without your consent.
Cookies
Our website uses what are known as cookies, which are small text files that your browser stores on your device. They do not cause any harm.
We use cookies to make our website more user-friendly. Some cookies are kept on your device until you delete them. They allow us to recognise your browser the next time you visit the site.
If you prefer to disable cookies, you can configure your browser settings to notify you about cookies and then choose to enable them on a case-by-case basis.
Disabling cookies may limit the functionality of our website.
Server log files
The site provider automatically collects and stores information in files known as server log files, which your browser automatically sends to us. These contain:
- browser type and browser version
- operating system used
- referrer URL
- hostname of the accessing computer
- time of server request
This data cannot be traced back to any particular persons and is not combined with any other data sources. We reserve the right to examine this data at a later date if we have specific reason to believe any unlawful use has occurred.
SSL encryption
For security reasons and to protect confidential content during transfer, this site uses SSL encryption, for example, when you send enquiries to us as the site operator. You can tell that a connection is encrypted if the ‘http://’ in your browser’s address bar changes to ‘https://’ along with a lock symbol next to it. When SSL encryption is enabled, data you send us cannot be read by third parties.
Right to information, erasure and blocking
You have the following fundamental rights: right of access to information, right to rectification, erasure, restriction of use, data portability, revocation and objection. If you believe that your data has been handled in a way that violates the data protection law or that your data protection rights have otherwise been violated, you may lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority. This is the Austrian Data Protection Authority (Datenschutzbehörde).

Web analytics provided by Google Analytics
This website uses web analytics functions provided by Google Analytics. The provider is Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway Mountain View, CA 94043, USA.
Google Analytics uses what are known as cookies, which are text files stored on your computer for the purposes of analysing how you use the website. The information generated by the cookie about your use of the website is generally sent to and stored on a Google server located in the USA.
IP anonymisation
We have activated the IP anonymisation function on this website. This means that Google truncates your IP address within the Member States of the European Union or in other states that are party to the Agreement on the European Economic Area before it is sent to the USA. Only in exceptional cases is the full IP address sent to a Google server in the USA and truncated there. On behalf of the operator of this website, this information is used by Google to analyse your use of the website, to compile reports about website activities, and to provide the website operator other services relating to website use and Internet use. The IP address sent by your browser to the Google Analytics service is not combined with other Google data.
Browser plug-in
You can configure your browser to block cookies. Please note, however, that by doing so, you might not be able to fully use all the functions of this website. You can also prevent Google from collecting cookie data relating to your use of the website (including your IP address) and from processing this data, by downloading and installing the browser plug-in available here: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=en-GB

Demographics in Google Analytics
This website uses the Demographics function of Google Analytics, which makes it possible to create reports containing information about the age, gender and interests of site visitors. This data comes from interest-based Google advertising and from visitor data from third-party providers. The data cannot be traced back to any specific person. You can disable this function at any time using the Ads settings in your Google account or you can prevent Google Analytics from collecting your data in general in the Ads Personalization section.
Google reCAPTCHA
We use “Google reCAPTCHA” (hereinafter simply referred to as “reCAPTCHA” ) on this website. It is provided by Google Ireland Limited (“Google”), Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland.
reCAPTCHA is used to verify whether data provided through this website (e.g. via a contact form) has been entered by a human being or an automated program. To this end, reCAPTCHA analyses the behaviour of the website visitor on the basis of a number of features. This analysis starts automatically as soon as the website visitor opens the website. In this analysis, reCAPTCHA examines various information (e.g. IP address, duration of website visit or mouse operations performed by the user). The data collected during this analysis is forwarded to Google.
reCAPTCHA analyses are performed entirely in the background. Website visitors are not advised that this analysis is being performed.
The legal basis for this data processing is provided by Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. The website operator has a legitimate interest in protecting their web services from abusive automated surveillance and unsolicited advertising (spam).
Please refer to Google’s Privacy Policy and Google’s Terms of Service for further information on Google reCAPTCHA.

Use of social media buttons with Shariff
On our website, we use the Shariff privacy solution, which is maintained by the German computer magazine c’t. Shariff replaces the usual social media share buttons in order to protect your online privacy.
Shariff integrates these social media share buttons into our website only as images containing a link to the corresponding social media platform. Clicking the respective image will redirect you to the social media service in question. The Shariff button establishes direct contact between the social media platform and our visitor only when the visitor actively clicks the share button. Only then is your data sent to the social media platform in question. If the user does not click the Shariff button, no data is exchanged between you and the social media platform. More information (in German) on the Shariff privacy solution maintained by c’t magazine can be found here: http://www.heise.de/ct/artikel/Shariff-Social-Media-Buttons-mit-Datenschutz-2467514.html
The following social media platforms are integrated into our website using Shariff:
Facebook plug-ins
Our website uses Facebook plug-in integrations, provided by Facebook Inc., 1 Hacker Way, Menlo Park, California 94025, USA. These can be recognised by the Facebook logo or the ‘Like’ button on our site. A list of Facebook plug-ins can be found here: https://developers.facebook.com/docs/plugins/.
When you visit our website, the plug-in establishes a direct connection between your browser and the Facebook server. As a result, Facebook receives information that you have visited our site along with your IP address. If you click the ‘Like’ button while logged in to your Facebook account, you can link our site content to your Facebook profile. This means that Facebook knows that you have visited our website and can associate this directly with your user account. Please note that as the site provider, we have no knowledge of what data is transferred or how it is used by Facebook. For more information, please refer to Facebook’s Data Policy: https://de-de.facebook.com/policy.php.
If you want to prevent Facebook from being able to associate your website visit with your Facebook user account, please log out of your Facebook account.
Twitter functions are integrated into our website. These functions are provided by Twitter Inc., 1355 Market Street, Suite 900, San Francisco, CA 94103, USA. By using Twitter and the re-tweet function, the websites you visit are linked to your Twitter account and are shown to other users. Data is also transferred to Twitter in the process. Please note that as the site provider, we have no knowledge of the data transferred or how it is used by Twitter. More information can be found in the Twitter Privacy Policy: https://twitter.com/privacy.
You can change your Twitter privacy settings in your account settings: https://twitter.com/account/settings ändern.
Google+
Our website uses Google+ functions. The provider is Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway Mountain View, CA 94043, USA.
Collection and sharing of information: You can use the Google+ button to publish information worldwide. The Google+ button allows you and other users to receive personalised content from Google and our partners. Google stores the fact that you have clicked the ‘+1’ button for particular content as well as information about the page you are viewing when you click the ‘+1’ button. Your +1 selections can be shown as recommendations together with your profile name and your photo in Google services, such as in search results or in your Google profile, or in other places on websites and online ads.
Google records information about your +1 activities for the purpose of improving Google services for you and others. To use the Google+ button, you need a globally visible, public Google profile, which must contain at least the name that you have chosen for the profile. This name is used for all Google services. In some cases, this name can be used as a substitute for a different name that you have used when sharing content via your Goggle account. The identity of your Google profile can be seen by users who know your e-mail address or who have other identifying information about you.
How the collected information is used: In addition to the purposes described above, the information that you provide is used in accordance with the Google Privacy Policy, in its currently amended version. Google may publish aggregated statistics about the +1 activities of users or may share these with users and partners, such as publishers, advertisers or linked websites.
Instagram functions are integrated into our website. These functions are provided by Instagram Inc., 1601 Willow Road, Menlo Park, CA, 94025, USA. When you are logged in to your Instagram account, you can link our website content to your Instagram profile by clicking the Instagram button. This means that Instagram knows that you have visited our website and can associate this directly with your user account. Please note that as the site provider, we have no knowledge of what data is transferred or how it is used by Instagram.
More information can be found in the Instagram Privacy Policy: https://instagram.com/about/legal/privacy/
